HS: Sustainability in the Fashion Industry (ages 14 – 18)

For: High School Students (Age: 14-18)
These classes will build upon the previous Human Rights classes and will apply the learnings to the Fashion sector (hence, Sustainability/Human Rights). Students will look at the global trends in sustainability, global supply chain, employee rights, and community outreach whilst upholding Human Rights. The workshop will avail itself of case studies of companies to show students the different ways companies have either breached or protected human rights.
Prerequisite: Students must have completed the “HS: Human Rights: The Foundations” masterclass

Gaia Barcilon
Gaia Barcilon is an Attorney of the State of New York. She has obtained her degree in law from the City University of London (United Kingdom), her Master’s in Law from Duke University (United States), and her Master’s in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Switzerland). After working for the World Health Organization and a consultancy specializing in Security and Human Rights, she founded EOS Social Responsibility Solutions SA, of which she presently serves as the Chief Executive Officer. EOS Social Responsibility Solutions SA is a Swiss-based international consultancy that helps clients integrate sustainable standards and practices into their business model. With an aim to raise awareness of Human rights in all spheres of life, EOS launched Raise Awareness of International Standards in Education (RAISE). The aim of the project is to train young students in middle, high schools, and universities on the importance and practical application of Human Rights.
